What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these walks or rides, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with the Ville de Paris, the Paris tourist office, any museum in the Marais, or any shop, bakery or restaurant these tours visit.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. A badge on a card is a measured claim: Top rated only on a tour rated 4.9 or higher, Best seller only on the tour with the most reviews, Best value only on the cheapest. Some walks are sold more than once, and each listing appears on its own because each is separately bookable and priced: the Secret Food Tours tastings walk under three listings, the Do Eat Better full-meal walk under two, and the Babylon walk through the Jewish quarter as a small-group walk and as a private or small-group one.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different mornings: a tastings walk from Saint-Paul metro, a full-meal walk from the Ile Saint-Louis, and a history walk through the Jewish quarter with no food.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 20 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every tour fare is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing is converted at an exchange rate. Every fare here is per person, the private walks included, which is the listings' own statement rather than our reading of it.

The museum prices and hours we print are in euros, as each museum publishes them on its own site: the Carnavalet, the Maison de Victor Hugo, the Musée Picasso, the mahJ, the Mémorial de la Shoah and the Centre Pompidou's closure notice. The climate figures are Météo-France's own 1991–2020 normals for Paris-Montsouris. Where a detail comes from an operator's listing, such as a meeting point, a group size, an age limit or what is poured, it belongs to that tour.

What we deliberately do not publish

Garden hours beyond the month we read them. The Hôtel de Sully's courtyard hours are its own page's. The city's gardens change their hours with the season, so for the Place des Vosges, the Square du Temple and the Jardin des Rosiers we print the September 2026 hours paris.fr listed, labelled as such, and nothing for the Jardin Anne-Frank.
A closing time for the covered market. The city's own pages disagree about its evening closing time, so we print only that it is closed on Mondays.
Casualty figures for the 1942 roundups or the 1982 attack. These are numbers that must come from the historians and memorials who hold them. The one 1942 figure we print, the 260 pupils of the Rue des Hospitalières-Saint-Gervais school, is the mahJ's own.
A founding date for the gay Marais. It is widely repeated and was not in a source we could stand on. The Jewish quarter's history is printed only as the mahJ tells it, by century and decade.
An address or hours for the tourist office. Its own site did not load when we checked, so we point you to it instead of printing figures from elsewhere.
"1,174 mm of rain a year." A search summary gives that figure for Paris. Météo-France's own sheet for Paris-Montsouris says 634.3 mm, and the sheet wins.
A synagogue promise. The Babylon walks say no synagogue is entered, for security reasons. One reviewer of a different Jewish history walk describes a visit its listing does not promise, so we tell you to ask the operator rather than promising either way.
"Admission included" on a street. One listing marks the Rue des Rosiers stop "admission included". It is a public street, and no card here repeats the claim.
